Mac n Cheese

Ingredients  

  • 60g Plain Flour

  • 60g Butter

  • 800ml Milk

  • 160g Cheddar Cheese

  • 160g Bacon (chopped)

  • 2 Medium Onions

  • 350g Dry Macaroni

  • 40g Parmesan + 50g for topping 

 

Prep Time: 15mins   Cook Time: 10mins   Serves: 4

Method

  • Preheat your oven to 220 degrees C.

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter then stir in flour. Once this has browned slightly, add half of the milk and once this starts to thicken up, add the rest of the milk and whisk. Add in the cheddar cheese and parmesan and continue whisking.

  • In a pan of boiling water, cook the pasta for 10 minutes.

  • In a frying pan, fry the bacon and onion for 5 minutes on medium heat until fully cooked. Once these are cooked, add them into the cheese sauce.

  • Pour the cooked pasta into the sauce and stir to combine. Tip this into a glass dish and sprinkle with remaining parmesan.

  • Cook in the oven under the grill setting for 10 minutes or until browned.
